The Jennifer Morgue, by Charles Stross (Books 2007, 17)

A return visit to Charlie’s Laundry universe, and this time Bob Howard gets sucked into a James Bond pastiche. But the Blofeld-esque figure is trying to raise a Lovecraftian horror from the stygian depths.

There’s a beautiful merwoman, a deadly violin, and more mystic gadgetry than you can shake a stick at.

It’s great fun, and highly recommended.
