Without Twitter, how will we know what’s happening?

Twitter seems to be down at the moment – or at least, it’s not accepting tweets, and I can’t log in at the website. But how do we know what’s happening without Twitter to tell us?

Edit: back to normal now. I’m @devilgate, of course.
